Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. As a young girl, she moved to Oxfordshire where she studied at the Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she realized she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting as well as singing. As early as age ten, she took part and played the leading role in several Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford Theater instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after auditions of 8. They were cast as the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It broke all records in opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings and was the highest-grossing film in 2001. Critics have praised both the film, as well as the performance of the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British newspaper, called Emma's acting "amazing". Emma's performance was nominated and was awarded five awards for the film.
